We are also waiting for interview to be scheduled. No update so far.

What about going for emergency appointment?

Embassy is closed to all public.

According to Travel.state.gov website. No visa issuance took place at Mumbai embassy for the month of April.

There was a release in Mid March allowing career embassy staff worldwide to return to the US Immediately.   It was issued before the embassies closed.

Really? They are closed, It is a skeleton staff.   Their priority is providing services to American Citizens.  They do not know when they are reopening.  It takes a few weeks to restaff the consulate.  VIsas and immigration are not the highest priority embassy service. They will announce it publicly.

If your petition is still at the NVC, the NVC will schedule your appointment when the calendar reopens.  If it is at the consulate, the consulate will reschedule it.

Contact the embassy by email. They will eventually get to your request.  They are handling emergencies. Inconvenience isn't an emergency.
