Visitor/Travel Insurance is not the real issue, new immigrant insurance might be the best way to describe it. For example Medical Benefits is a key component and they would expect to repatriate you if this got bad, but of course that is not what you would want.

Link?

Looks like VJ censors the name of that company.

It was just a name not even a link, not sure why VJ censored the name of a insurance provider as if it’s a competitor. 🤣

Are you talking about health insurance? Travel insurance isn't going to help you there. If you're talking about one-way travel insurance that just cover the duration of the plane ride up to 24-48hrs coverage most UK travel insurance companies should have a broker that can talk to you about it.

Hmmm - so - shojuld I buy New Immigrant (Health) Insurance from a UK broker or US?

I have no idea what pay out range I should have.

Male - Good Health - 43 - UK

Your timeline indicates you have been in the US a month. You do not need travel insurance. If you need health insurance, then you sign up with a US health insurance provider.  Typically that can only be done during the  “open enrollment” period in November. But there are exceptions like a move, marriage that will allow you special enrollment for only 60 days following the event. Better get on it.

Getting on a spouse’s group plan through her employment is often the best deal if possible. Individual plans are more costly. Try healthcare.gov to shop for individual plans. You can also shop with insurance companies directly. The companies you find on healthcare.gov are your clue to who is providing healthcare in your area. Not all companies serve every state or region. Then you can find that company online directly and see what other policies they might offer that are not offered on the government portal.

Good luck. It is a huge pain!

They have a forum well know for its iffy information and which is mainly used to sell their insurance. Not sure if that is why it is blanked.

Neither, get married asap and get added to your then spouses cover. Anything else you buy may be cheap but #######.
