Hi all, does anyone know if they’re still shipping cases to the Montreal embassy right now? I got my case number almost a month ago and my status on CEAC has been “at NVC” for the past 4 weeks. Two shipping dates have already passed. Are they even shipping cases right now or do we have to wait until they reopen the Montreal embassy? And related to that , anyone have any clues or the slightest inkling of when the MTL embassy will open back up? Thanks!

We had our interview cancelled at Montreal and we don't have a clue when they'll start again. Someone else here reported doing an expedited CR1 last week on the 14th, but it sounds like they might be stuck in administrative processing because they're prioritizing employment-based applications for some reason? Haven't heard any expedited/emergency cases for K1 even be attempted there. At least the embassy hasn't totally shut down.

They aren't regularly processing visas outside of special cases at any embassy in the world. There's no clear indication when they'll start back up. There was some guidance from the state department leaked out saying regular operations should resume depending on how cases are in each area, but no specific word on how visa matters will be handled. It's not a terribly good sign for Montreal since they've been doing pretty bad with the pandemic so far.

I'm also really hoping the Montreal embassy opens soon for interviews.

USCIS has stated they will reopen their offices on Jun 4th, as long as they feel it's still safe to do so by then. I'm really hoping the Department of State works with that timeline too.
