the 14 day applies to all of us

i was born in the US and came back from France and had to self quarantine 14 days although the quarantine was here in the US

we were met at the plane by federal officers and given instructions and papers to fill out to do the quarantine taking our temperature and who to contact if we had any signs of illness

certain countries have to do this quarantine out of the US

The item in bold would be the exception for you.

So you should be fine.

Just in case it wasn't clear what was meant by "fine" above:

Yes you can travel to the US and enter under that exception.

But the quarantine rules once in the US still apply. That applies to anybody.

I called the CBP to make sure that I can enter the US.. I'm an immigrant visa holder who is an immediate relative of a US resident... He said that I shouldn't travel to the US through europe because I'll have to wait 14 days in another country. That's.. wrong, right? Shouldn't I be excluded according to Ban?

I travelled on a CR1 via one of the POE stated in the travel ban. I know spouses are exempt.  I travelled from the UK. So, not sure where the CBP got their info unless you are attempting to enter into an airport that isn't an approved POE, this is because the CDC is screening on entry.

I went from London to Newark to Denver. Newark is one of the POE. Was your visa approved prior to the proclamation? I also got a government backed flight through United Airlines. I travelled 26th April, so unless the rules changed, and if you are exempt from the proclamation I'm not sure why the refusal.

Where are you travelling from and to?

Here's my experience, maybe it will help you. If you have questions please let me know.

I think you still need to enter through one of the POE's . They will refuse you if you don't. Check up on that before flying.

Hey, thanks for sharing. Yeah I hope to be getting to Boston airport. Only there's one more thing that I'm not sure of. Will I need a transit visa to connect flights overnight in Heathrow airport? My flight arrives to London at 18:30 May 22 and leaves the next day at 11:15 On may 23. My visa is an F4 immigrant one.

That I'm not sure of. The UK has quarantine rules right now and I wouldn't like to say. Have you contacted the UK Border Force? Sorry I'm not sure on this one.

Currently there aren't any quarantine rules in-place but they will be announced soon by the Home Office. Some speculate that transit passengers would be exempt: "It is thought this will not include international transit passengers who are using large ports such as Heathrow and Manchester to connect to other destinations." https://www.express.co.uk/travel/articles/1280742/travel-lockdown-will-I-have-to-quarantine-14-days-UK-border-control

Interesting, thank you. My husband and I wanted to try and get back at some point to move the rest of my things, but wanted to be mindful of a few things the quarantine rules being one of them. We aren't planning for a few months yet :)
