It's an extension of the land border closure. And some exceptions have recently been introduced for immediate relatives of Canadian citizens and PR.

I didnt see that is only for Land.

At the very beginning it says: "The Canada-U.S. border closure to all non-essential traffic will be extended beyond the June 21 date set last month" Thus, it's only referring to the land border restriction:

https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agence/pm-covid19-eng.html "the U.S. and Canada will temporarily restrict all non-essential travel across the U.S.-Canada land border."

https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/20_0519_as1_frn_us-canada-border.pdf "decision to temporarily limit
the travel of individuals from Canada into the United States at land ports of entry along the United States-Canada border to “essential travel,”"

It's also just referring to the land border restriction. The land border restriction has been extended by 30 day increments since March.

What about flying? Is Air Canada gonna fly from FLL? Can I call someone anf check?

Which dates? To which city in Canada?

For flights in the upcoming weeks, it'll have to be on a US airline with at least 1 layover. For example, on Monday there are the following one way routes from Toronto to FLL:

  • American Airlines has 3 flights YYZ to CLT to FLL
  • American Airlines has a flight YYZ to PHL to FLL
  • Delta Airlines has a flight YYZ to DTW to FLL (this route is more expensive than the American Airlines routes)

The FLL to Toronto trip has a similar variety to the examples above. Routes between FLL and other Canadian cities (Vancouver, Montreal, etc.) also have a similar variety as the examples above.

Has anyone flown into the US from Vancouver? I’m considering doing so at the end of July but am nervous if they’ll let me through.

I did on Friday. I believe the only flights available are to Seattle but when I got there the domestic terminal was business as usual so a connection shouldn't be an issue.

I was worried they wouldn't let me through since I was in the US from October - March and I've been flagged for frequent travel, but I was only asked basic questions and then waved through.

Thank you! That is really good to know. I'll be flying to Memphis so I always expect to have at least one layover (I'm from Saskatchewan).
