Hey all !

I am filling form I-864 and including my husband (U.S citizen) tax return for year 2019. I was wondering,

Do I need to also include his Form 1098 Mortgage Interest Statement and Form 1098-T Tuition Statement with the tax return and W-2s?

Thank you !!

No, those are for information when he prepares his return but the W2 is what shows/verifies his income.

Won't it be better to send the IRS Tax return transcript ( 4 to 5 pages) rather than sending the tax return ( more than 100 pages)?

Tax transcripts are better because they are verified by the IRS. But a tax return would rarely be 100 pages. Many tax programs generate a lot of extra things for your records that are not actually the IRS forms and schedules that are the tax return.

The  Form 1040 is the first page, then every other required form/schedule has an attachment sequence number as shown in the photo below. If it doesn’t have that, it’s not an IRS form and is something TurboTax (or other software) created.
