hi everyone,
I am filing form i-864 form my wife and My wife and I have an 8 month baby daughter who is a US citizen and has her US passport, she resides with momma in Cuba.
I am a little confused and not sure if i would need a co-sponsor in our case. MY annual salary is around $26k but considering that I am sponsoring my wife, Can i file the affidavit of support on my own? or are we considered a household of 3 , and should use a co-sponsor?
I am quite new here and not very good at asking questions so please bare with me if i dint ask correctly , thank you for any assistance

You are a household of 3. I’m not sure of the minimum requirement for 3 people but if you are on the cusp I would recommend looking for a joint sponsor. Check out the CR1 message boards to familiarize yourself with the process and you can follow others who have/are going through the process

edit: you definitely need a joint sponsor or a better job.

You are a household of 3.  Probably need a "Joint Sponsor".  Start by downloading and becoming an A-student of the I-864 instructions.  Critical to your ultimate success.

hi, one more question in regards. Although we are a household of 3, when asked on form I-864 to list the number of persons i am sponsoring, would i still answer with 1 being my wife? since our baby is a US citizen already and i am not filing form i-864 for her? thank you again

Yes.  Your baby is simply shown as your child.  She is part of your household.  Neither you or your baby would be a part of the joint sponsor's household.  Instructions, really.  Look at the actual questions on the form.  Details.

The best way to be sure is to study and follow those instructions.
