How long does Police Cert last for?

Hi all, 

Our petition has finally been approved! So we're at the NVC stage and preparing documents.

 

Given COVID-19 is delaying the immigration process for some, if not all families, how long does a police certificate last for before its 'expired' in the eyes of the Consulate?

 

I know the medical is 6 months, is this the same for the police certificate?

 With the exception of the PC from your current country of residence, which is considered valid for 12 months from the date of issuance, a PC is valid indefinitely, provided you do not return to the country and reside for six months or more, if it’s your country of birth or current residence. The period is twelve months for any other country.

In simple English, Just make sure they are all dated the same year you present them to the consular.

Please when and if they open ask them to send a message to Frankfurt to open too...the waiting line is growing and we miss our loved ones
