I-485 Rejected Notice - Questions

I received a rejection noticed. I am a bit concerned we submitted the I-864 but we didn't submit the I-944.  So once I fill out the provided I-944, do I have to fill out a new 485 or is the returned copy efficient?  Also my wife last valid date was May 5th 2020 (90 days) . Does that mean I cannot use the 485 form anymore?

It's a new submission, you have to send everything like a new packet.

If the 485 is since out of date be sure to use the newest version.

Yes, this is a new submission, but you can use existing forms or copies of your original submission, but I would do a twice over to make sure you don’t need to update anything else.

Good Luck!

Do you know since we married during the 90 days. I can still submit the i-485 and also I-944 is asking for a credit score, this is all based on the US citizen correct? The sponsoring person ?

Yes, you are fine.  There is actually no set deadline to file the I485 package from a K1 marriage.  Most on VJ will recommend doing it within the 90 day window if at all possible, but it is not a requirement.  Just go ahead and fix the missing parts of your first submission, resubmit it and you and your spouse will be fine.

Good Luck!

I-944 is about the immigrant. And some questions about their household.

Thank you will work on it, I'm a bit worry since I don't have the best credit score and have some debt due to a car loan going south ugh but thank you will start on it now.

So its about my wife? she is the immigrant. She is from the Philippines, she wouldn't have a credit score since she never own a credit card.

Yes. Read the instructions and it will tell you exactly what to do.

There's also a ton of threads here about how to fill out the 944 and how to deal with those requests.

That's fine, your info will be on there as well and probably will be more dependent on showing that you have sufficient assets to support her.
