The ESIGN Act granted electronic signatures the same legal status as handwritten signatures throughout the U.S. Under the ESIGN Act, an electronic signature is defined as any electronic process associated with an agreement that indicates acceptance of that agreement. The ESIGN Act:
• Provides that any law with a requirement for a signature may be satisfied by an electronic signature.
• Allows electronically executed agreements to be presented as evidence in court.
• Prevents denial of legal effect, validity, or enforceability of an electronically signed document solely because it is in electronic form.

 

 

Pretty sure, yes.  I suppose the person can digitally sign the actual form, and then upload the form after printing, but the OP's question was about avoiding printing.  These forms are not completed ONLINE like the DS260 is.  DS260 is digitally signed BECAUSE it is an online form.  The I-864 etc. is a downloadable or printable PDF, not an online submission.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

As usual with most USCIS forms you download in PDF and type in , I had to end up hand writing in a few fields  that grayed out ,in this case digital signing would not have worked.

June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!

September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!

April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
