Antibody test? Most current ones are not very good, there are some with a ridiculous false positive rate but there are reliable tests being developed.

For the antibody test, the suggestion is to wait at least 10 days after the potential exposure.

I just had to get the antibody test as part of a medical even tho I had a confirmed positive swab test with 2 trips to the ER.  That was a waste of resources.

You can get the regular nose swap if the virus is active.   At Mary's memory care job she had an asymptomatic co-worker. Fortunately it was in her unit and not on one of the other three.  72 hours after Mary being clear of symptoms they begged (and the health department cleared) her to go back to work.  Last 2 pay periods she had a total of 235 hours and spent 7 nights sleeping in the breakroom.

Yes, antibody testing.  Especially for those that had these unexplained illnesses back in December/January, but I agree, one has to be careful of the tests currently available.

They are still restricting the virus testing to those with symptoms or essential workers.  I am not sure we will ever get to the point where all 330 million plus folks will be tested for the virus.  Additionally, the virus test only measure a specific point in time.  Someone could be tested, and then be exposed an hour later.  This is why I hope they perfect the antibody testing quickly going forward.

We have 2 places locally doing first come first serve drive through testing by appointment. Without a doctors order, it costs $95. Hard to find an opening on the schedule to book an appointment though.

In LA County it's free for everyone, by appointment only. Priority is given to symptomatic people and frontline workers (i.e. first responders, health care professionals, etc.) who get same or next day tests on demand. Asymptomatic people do not need to wait to become symptomatic to be tested.

Antibodies or getting randomly tested for it while you have it. We have tests going on now here even if you have no symptoms...I don't see why most people would choose to do that though, they aren't pleasant tests, and if you feel good...why? Now if it was serological I would go. but it's not.

If you're infected, you need to isolate and not leave your house for any reason except to get medical care and you need to take precautions within your household if you live with other people. Otherwise you just follow social distancing/shelter in place and go to work if you're essential. I assume that asymptomatic people with confirmed or suspected exposure will want to get tested, especially if they or someone they're in contact with is at risk.

Yes, I meant to say that those restrictions are in Michigan at least in my county.

I don't know of anywhere here that you can get a test as an asymptomatic person. For a long time they insisted you could only get a test with a doctor's order, but DE and MD have some sort of deal now - and the DE hospital is setting up testing sites in many rural counties of MD for free walk in testing without an order. Still need to have symptoms though. We seemed to have moved on from testing (because we still don't have enough supplies) to contact tracing. My husband is meeting with the Colonel of the guard team that will be running the IT structure for creating the info database.

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
