K1 Visa entry to US from China

Hi Everyone, I would really appreciate any help. My fiancé is in China and his K1 visa expires on June 4, 2020. A travel ban to Chinese nationals was imposed in early February and we are since waiting for it to be lifted. However, it doesn't look like the travel ban will go away any time soon and we are out of time. Currently he doesn't have any valid visa to other counties. What should we do? what options do we have? Thanks in advance for any help.

If his issued visa expires prior to his ability to travel, the consulate can, at their discretion, re-issue the visa.  This would require a new medical exam, fees, and a renewal of any other expired documents. Contact the consulate.

I would try to travel to another country, there are like 70 visa free or Visa on arrival countries, spend 14 days there to be safe, then travel to the US and enter on the K1 visa.

Thanks! Hope the re-issue is an easy process. Anyone had experience?

Thanks! Most of these countries are difficult to get to even at normal days. At current global lock down, there's very few international flights and a lot of new requirements entering a country. We were thinking about to go to Thailand and stay there 14 days, but there are no flights, no more visa on arrival for Chinese.

Yes, Thailand is shut down until May 31, then it's supposed to open back up. Not sure if it will for Chinese passport holders, but should I would think. Just start checking flights, bound to be somewhere to transit thru. I would rather get here before the first visa expired, could take a really long time to get another one issued. I'm sure at least 4-6 months minimum.  And they way they are talking about immigrants being allowed into the US, I wouldn't wait, I have a feeling they are going to lock the borders down for any immigration really soon.

Since his K1 visa expires on June 4, we need to find a route and leave in a week. So far there is no possible way yet. 😟
