We made a trip to the Philippine Embassy in DC in March to renew my Wife's passport, unfortunately the day we arrived is the day they closed because of covid-19. Her passport expires in October, we are planning a trip to Philippines in December.

I there any way to renew passport without trip to embassy? I sent them a message last week, the automatic reply was to come back when they are open.

Any advice will be helpful.

Thanks

When you review the requirements to renew a passport on the Embassy or at any of the consulates' websites, personal appearance shows up as a requirement.

It looks like you are going to have to wait.  The good news is that they are pretty fast to get you the new one.

Finally done.

She most likely has a older passport and a personal appearance is required now to renew it. You can do it a Consular Outreach here in NC. They are having the next one in July. Where in NC are you living if you don't mind me asking? I am living in Sanford. You can also do it by mail as well: https://ph.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/renew-an-adult-10-year-validity-passport/

That web link is for US citizens renewing not a Philippine passport.

I don't think there is a mail renewal for Philippine passports.

I know I saw that after I posted it and it wouldn't let me change it.

Any Philippine passport renewal requires a face to face action, either at the embassy or consulate or at an outreach event.   No mail or online option.

YMMV

The outreach in Raleigh would be perfect. We live in Hickory NC, only 2.5 hours away.

Thanks for the advice.

Not a problem at all. You have to jump on the slots though because fill up QUICK.... I went to one last year for my wife's pp renewal and there were people there from all over NC.
