proof of income

I was planning to send in the tax return of 2019 but some how the IRS doesn't have the tax return transcript ready yet for me to acquire. Will the tax 1040 form will be enough for proof of income (Affidavit of support)

I do have the tax return for 2018.

A copy of the 1040 + all supporting W2s, 1099s, and other schedules is fine. This will satisfy the tax return copy requirement.

 

Unless you are self-employed, a tax return does not show current income. It shows past income for an employee. Current income of an employee would be evidenced via pay stubs and/or an employment letter.

Transcript is now required. You can send copy of the same form you are mailing.

You are absolutely right. It’s a typo. I meant to say, “not” required. I just noticed it typed, “now” instead
