[K1] Transfer Embassy while waiting NOV 2

Hi.

I filed the I-129F petition on December 5, 2019 and received NOV 1 on December 10, 2019.  I would like to know if there's a way to making a correction while we're waiting for approval.

At the time we filed the form, my fiance was in the Netherlands so we stated on Part 2 Number 62a-b that we would like to apply for visa broad at the US Embassy at the Netherlands. However, my fiance came back to Korea due to COVID-19. What we are concerning is how to transfer the case from the Netherlands to South Korea.

Anyone who has similar experience, please give us advice on our situation.

Thank you.

Kim

I tried to change consulates while the petition was with USCIS because my wife's employment contract in KSA was expiring. I had several phone calls, including those with a Tier 2.

I sent a letter requesting the change.

We got an RFE, and I included a copy of the letter again.

They were not able to do so. They said it needed to be done at NVC.

I had over a dozen calls to NVC once they had the petition to make the change as well. They were unable to do so.

I have seen limited success catching it at NVC and having success. SO it's not impossible.

The main issue is they normally only have an I-129F for a few days and the timeline to make the request and have it happen is normally weeks(requested via AskNVC online), so timing is critical. The pandemic has delayed processing from NVC to the consulate, so I guess that's a plus in this area...well, assuming that's still the case when your petition gets approved.

Good luck.

Edit: Ultimately, we had o do a consulate transfer request after KSA got the petition. We contacted the new consulate (Manila in her case) and requested that they transfer the case to them. We provided evidence of her now living in PH. They then processed that request and had KSA transfer the case to them..

Hi Kim,

Hope this helps, I also transferred my case from the 3rd country to Korea few months ago.

Me and my fiance realized that our case had sent to the 3rd country US embassy as soon as I called NVC to find out case number. (We initially identified Seoul at consular info section at I129F tho, but I used to live abroad at that time.)

We tried to figure this out while our case was in NVC but it didn’t happen. At the end, I had to request case transfer at consular stage. 😨 Hope to transfer your case at NVC stage! 🍀

Nobody has been successful moving from the US Embassy (the Hague) in the Netherlands.  You need to move it from the US Consulate in Amsterdam

YMMV
