Now it has been 3 months since my wife'sinterview in Ankara for the K3 process and the latest update from the embassy is that they are doing a "security name check". Is this normal ? Any estimates on how much longer it might take ? I thought this K3 visa was supposed to expedite things. I'll keep checking... :-)

We can only pray and wait. I am in the same boat and he is getting very depressed. It seems his name is rather common so I expect the checks to take a long time. This is what he wrote me after my last call to the DOS.

I am sorry to hear that someone else is experiencing the same thing, it's just crazy. With all the money that the US has it's a shame how slow this process is. I wonder if they pick and choose who gets a name check or isit for all Iranian applicants? My wife is discouraged too and I feel guilty because I had told her how much better the US administrative processes are. Let's stay in touch and I really hope your name check comes through asap. Giving up is not an option :-) Take care
