How long before Embassy gives Interview

Can someone tell me why it takes 2 month to wait for a interview once Consulate has file? The NVC sent to Nigeria today by DHL. Wonder if husband can pick up packet from Embassy? Instead of waiting until contacted.

Two months until the interview itself or two months for the interview to be scheduled?

It takes about four to six weeks to get into the embassy in Nigeria database. You can email them and they will tell you if your file is in their system or you can have you husband go to the embassy and make an inquiry. Make sure that you have all your documents in order like bankstatements, phone records, emails, pictures, letters from job and tax info. You can burn time by getting prepared. The email address to the consulate in Nigeria is lagoscons2@state.gov Congratulations on your approval. Your one step away from having your husband home.

Consulate Received : 2007-02-07

Packet 3 Received : 2007-02-08

Interview Date : 2007-04-23
