Did you send it with tracking? Was the check cashed or credit card charged? It can take a while to get your NOA which will serve as an extension.

Yes I have tracking. I used a credit card which I saw was charged a week after I mailed the package.

After that date you're still a Permanent Resident.

For your current employer they can't require you to do re-verification: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/complete-correct-form-i-9/completing-section-3-reverification-and-rehires

EMPLOYERS SHOULD NOT REVERIFY:
  • U.S. citizens and noncitizen nationals
  • Lawful permanent residents who presented a Form I-551, Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Receipt card for Section 2. This includes conditional residents.
  • List B documents

https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/104-avoiding-discrimination-recruiting-hiring-and-form-i-9-process

[Employers] should not:

  • ...
  • Request that an employee who presented an unexpired Permanent Resident Card present a new document when the Permanent Resident Card expires.
  • Request specific documents for reverification. For example, you should allow an employee who presented an unexpired Form I-766, Employment Authorization Document, during initial verification to present any document from either List A or C during reverification.
  • ...

Ok so since they cashed your check they did get it and you are just waiting for the NOA. It can take 30 days or so for some people to get it. And I believe they wont let you request a copy of the NOA until its been at least 30 days- so you are going to have to wait and see if you get it (which you most likely will ) or have to request a duplicate. Do you have informed delivery from the post office? It shows you what mail you are getting.
