Did anyone get similar update?

 

I didn't go to biometrics appointment. They never set one for me. Does this mean they are proceeding without fingerprints?

I've seen a lot of this on Facebook groups over the past couple of days. It would appear they are reusing biometrics from AOS. Lots at SRC center.

 

I'm not sure if this is a new thing or not. I did once read if biometrics from AOS were less than a year old they could be reused? Maybe they have stretched this out to ROC cases

It's not new. In early 2019 I received the following notice in the mail for EAD renewal: "U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition, or request. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment."

Well, initially, I also got the same. And I'm at SRC.

 

Later, USCIS "walked back" on this and sent us - those who got the same waived fingerprints notification  around September of 2019 - for actual fingerprints. Hopefully,  that won't happen to you.

Honestly it would make sense for most biometrics to be reused if you ask me. How often do a person's verified fingerprints change, anyway? It would be nice if this is the new norm.

Well, an update to this is - I just got my approved ROC letter, without an interview. 

 

N400 window opens next month.

Approved yesterday with no interview.

I am happy that since i satrted k1 till now i learned everything myself and never had rfe or any kind of issues.
