@SusnOwen, @MerryMentor - thanks for updates. Looks like you'll be done with biometrics just in time before USCIS furloughs 2/3rd of their workforce at the end of the month.

As for me, I haven't heard anything from them since they sent the yellow letter indicating I-693 deficiency.

Looks like biometric appointments are based on the ASC that handles your cases.

@MerryMentor - what's your ASC, if you don't mind me asking? Looks like @SusnOwen is in CT.

Mine is St. Louis, MO and my PD is 12th June.

Hi everyone!

I am also adjusting from F-1. We sent the package to Chicago via Fed Ex on July 31 and it was received by USCIS on August 3.

We haven’t received any text messages or NOA yet and getting worried. I can’t see whether they’ve cashed the checks because we paid with cashier’s checks. Have some of you experienced delay with receiving text messages / NOA? By reading the forum, I see that the average timeline is 10-14 days.

Timelines have changed significantly since April due to the pandemic, it’s been averaging a month or more. You shouldn’t worry unless it’s longer than 45 days. Btw, did you sign up for the text and email updates?

Thanks for your reply.

Not sure - I thought you get text and email updates automatically. How do you sign for that?

We actually filed our application with a lawyer. Do you know in this case whether we should receive the updates or the lawyer will receive it?

It’s always the applicant or the spouse. Depends if your lawyer filled out a form G-1145.

Thank you!

The lawyer hasn’t filed G-1145. So annoying! I didn’t even know about this form before starting to read the forum.

I called USCIS today and the lady on the phone was very nice. She said that USCIS had received our application and a notice letter had been mailed out to us on August 13. Still haven’t gotten anything in the mail though 🤔

Well at least you got some information on the application, hopefully you’ll get the hard copy of NOA soon. You can sign up for USPS informed delivery if you’re not worried about “privacy concerns”. It’s been a great thing for me personally.

Thank you! Yes, I am signed for the USPS informed delivery. It’s really a great thing.
