how to copy divorce decree if its about 30 pages , which pages we should copy???

Hmmm...well when I got married in Cairo I had to present my divorce decree first to the US Embassy. To get the one they wanted I had to 1) get a copy of the divorce from the court that I got the divorce in, 2) bring that copy to the State House to have it certified and then 3)send that certified copy to the Department of State to have it authenticated (they even have a signature on it from Condi Rice :) ).

Anyway the copy that I sent in with my I130 and I129 was the one that I got from the Dept of State.

12/28/06 - got married :)

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

no, we are going on k1 fiance visa and they ask for final divorce decree from any previos marriage , my fiancee have her divorce decree but its big file about 30 pages , when we going to send it should we make copy of all this pages or just some????

You only need to send in a copy of the divorce decree which shows that an absolute divorce has been granted by the court where the divorce was filed.

It should read something like this...

It is now, therefore, ordered, adjudged and decreed that the bonds of matrimony heretofore existing between plaintiff and the defendant be, and the same are hereby dissolved and the plaintiff is granted an absolute divorce from the defendant.

I guess I wasn't clear, sorry. :(

The only pages that I sent in with the visa application was the authenticated decree from the Dept of State. It was all of two pages. I did not have to send in all the other pages which outline the child support, property distribution, etc.

To be on the safe side, I'd ask this in the K-1 section since you will probably get more responses. Good luck! :thumbs:

Actually I just went to count and mine is 16 pages so you win the prize!!! :lol: Mine would have been more but my lawyer was 89 years old and could barely remember his own name. He was a friend of my dad's though and only charged me $100. lol

Actually I just went to count and mine is 16 pages so you win the prize!!! :lol: Mine would have been more but my lawyer was 89 years old and could barely remember his own name. He was a friend of my dad's though and only charged me $100. lol

u are the one who win the prize then ..lol

They only want to see where your name and your marriage was divorced, therefore the first page and the page where the court has stamped or the signature that the divroce is final, kaput, LOL

Since you're doing the K-1 like I did, I just had to send the last page of the decree saying yeah, I was divorced on such and such date and it had to have the seal on it.

Wish I had asked....LOOOOOOOOL Mine was 32 pages and I sent all pages. Oh well..we are at the Embassy now waiting on our interview.
