Yup! Hopefully this is just the phase 1 and things will keep moving in the right direction from here.

And with the current bans maybe they can clear the backlog quickly. Or so that too much common sense

At their peak, monthly they were hitting 5000 approved, a majority (and I'm talking like 90%+) were tourist visas, fiance visas and others not detailed here. Spousal and family visas were such a small part of it, I think if they get back to working standard they can smash us all out in about two months.

That would be the dream! Fingers crossed for only good news for all of us from here on out 🤞

Better hope its less than 2 months. Everyone will probably be freaking out about COVID again come autumn.

Vaccine could be available by September due to a major breakthrough today, the trial was hugely successful and trained the immune system to resist COVID-19. You do get a headache but it isn't as bad as the actual COVID-19 fever or headache, it is manageable with paracetamol.

I'd imagine US government workers are essential, I would imagine they'd get the vaccine pretty quick.

I truly hope this is right. Hubby and I are hoping to do his medical by end of Sept and interview in Oct. We may not move till December, but I want the approval before anything else happens this year. :(

Does anyone know in a “normal” times, when did NVC schedule appts. It’s isually the same few days a month isn’t it? But surely they have August free so would make sense to start scheduling now for next week and after 🤔🤔

I believe NVC tended to assign appointments during the last few days of the month. That coincides with London opening up the next month as available. Those who get into the appointment system to select their own date have noticed that near the end of the month, a new month of dates opens up. So at end of July, the August dates will still show and the September dates will appear. At the end of August, the October dates will show up. It’s just an observation.

A post on this UK forum just a few days ago from someone who logged into the appointment system said the available dates she saw were 2 in July and 4 in August.  But keep in mind that they don’t have a full staff yet,  so the number of appointment slots would be limited.
