Just seen this, but when I click on it I can’t find where it talks about it.

Unfortunately, based on this interaction another member received, I dont think the London Embassy is going to consider any K1 Visa interviews on an emergency basis:

It literally says on their website in the section about K1 to do the 14 day quarantine in order to travel with one. This is so weird. I wonder if they were told this via email or phone. The people answering the phones are just switchboard operators and I feel like have given a few people false info.

They gave out false info through email, too, citing EO10014 as the reason for not performing K1 Visa interviews before being called out and correcting themselves.  I think there is a lot of confusion and little direction at the London Embassy right now.

It was by email by the Chief of the “Consular Information Unit.” Scary that they are so uninformed of the consequences of their advice

Ugh yeah, it’s pretty alarming tbh but I feel like the only thing I would really trust at this point is the DoS website and maybe the embassy website. I know Greg Siskind on Twitter actually did a tweet dedicated to all the misinformation swirling around specifically about K1s and a lot of people brought up London.

All the emails and phone calls seem like they should be taken with a grain of salt 😕

I can confirm that I just had my normal, non-emergency, IR-1 interview today and was approved.

The other people all seemed to be there as either spouses or children of USCs.

So routine visa services have resumed for those categories as least, it seems.

Wonder if these are rescheduled appts or have NVc started sending the dqs across

frustrating not knowing

congrats btw

Congrats! What kind of questions did they ask and did they review the public charge form?

Thanks! Just very basic questions:

* how I'd met my husband
* where his family lives
* whether I/we would have health insurance. (they appear to be asking this question to everyone now)

They did not ask for the public charge form, but I had it prepared just in case. They were asking everyone about how people will get healthcare though.

Thanks!! I am! 😄

My main advice is, at this point, don't bother trying to bring your spouse with you. All the US spouses had to wait outside in the cold, because they haven't been updating the visitors lists.

Thanks. I know the gentleman in front of me mentioned he was rescheduled and had his original appointment scheduled in March.

ahh good to know. Did they want proof of the health insurance? We plan to bring in the quotes from the exchange and also let them know if I get work sorted before we move that he will be added on to that. I'll be curious to see what questions they ask hubby when he goes, since he already went through the process when we did the K1 back in 2008 lol

Fortunately, I wasn't asked for any proof. I wasn't as well prepared as you guys with quotes!

I just mentioned that I'd either obtain it through work, but that we'd looked for plans on the exchange as well.

And realistically, that should be all they are looking for. Not like you can start a policy without knowing what date you will be in the country lol. :)
