My Filipina wife is nervous for the interview

Today my wife and 6yo stepson's I130s were approved. We're overjoyed as it only took 6 months. Now my wife is very nervous for the interview stage. I keep telling her just tell the truth and everything will be fine. We have a real marriage and nothing to hide.

How is the interview process for those seeking spouse visas? Is it really hard or is it easy like our infant son's CRBA interview was? Any tips for the interview?

It is usually pretty easy especially at USEM. The majority of people have more issues with CFO than they do the embassy

Interview at USEM is usually 3-5 minutes long.  If you have a genuine relationship the interview is short and sweet.   Make sure to have the required documents as listed in the embassy 5 STEPS and all should be golden.

It will still be a few months before your wife reaches the interview phase, still need to complete NVC

Excuse my ignorance. What's CFO?

Does your wife use her married name in her passport?  If yes, then she completed CFO already.

How easy or hard it is depends on the case. If you have a decent case and no red flags, it's probably not going to be an issue. USEM is not particularly tough. But if you have red flags and not much marriage evidence, it can still be pretty tough.

It's not like the CRBA process...that's more of a paperwork-only thing. The only real discretion is with regard to questions of the paternity of the father (if relevant).

Our interview was so easy.  I was there with my wife.  I was told I could stand with her but I should not say anything.  He read through our file. Then he asked her when we got married.  That was his only question for her.  Then he asked me what I do and some general questions about Chicago and the area I live.  He was familiar with my hometown.  So we were actually up there for 10 to 15 minutes but he only asked my wife one question.  The interview is very easy if you aren't hiding anything.
