Removing conditions/timeline (merged threads)

Hello,

 

I couldnt find a thread on this/most are closed.
 

1. is it just the 1 sheet my wife has to fill out for removing conditions? I-751?

2. What is the timeline? Ive heard 1 year to 2 years... really random timelines. Does this site provide a timeline for I751, i couldnt get to it.

No, it isn't a one-sheet form.....Here is the link to a good guide.  I suggest you read the guide, study the forms, then ask questions.

Should have defined that better. I meant 1 form. I get the several pages deal. Any ideas of timeline?

Yes, just the I-751 form and all supporting documents.......I think my wife's package was about 70 pages.....this is what we sent:

The timeline depends on your local office.  We filed my wife's I-751 package in late March 2019......We are still waiting for an interview....Visa Journey emails me an estimated timeline every once and a while.

 

For ROC

Apartment lease with both our names & signatures
Periodic Joint bank checking acct statements since wife's arrival in June 2017.
Deed for new home with both our names
Mortgage Lender Letter with both our names.
Credit Cards showing both on joint account with same card number.
Amazon delivery label showing both names and our current address.
Wife's Military Dependent ID card showing me as the sponsor.
Tricare Eligibility Letter showing both of us together.
Military pay statement showing wife as my benefic.
Texas Health Care Directives appointing each other as sole health care proxy(Advanced Directives)
Our Texas driver's licenses with same address for both of us
2018 Joint Tax ReturnTax Returns 
Pictures of us on special occasions here in the US.
Car Insurance Cards showing both of us as insured drivers for our car
Boarding Passes for Las Vegas Valentine Day Trip 2019
Utility application showing both our names for our current address

Does anyone know in the instructions number 5 on the list? Affadavits by two people. Is this just a sheet saying they know people or need to be notarized or anything by lawyer? Who or how is it prepared?

also, im getting nervous 😂 do we need finger prints? I think those are for people not living in the states?

Only use affidavits if you have no primary or better secondary evidence.   If you do them they need to be written by each party an notarized.

 

Biometrics are (can be) taken at every step in immigrations.

Im finding that it does not have to be notirized. It does have to be signed and have to say something like “you have to swear its real etc” im surprised they even care about it. nevermind like you said its not needed

 

i think it was just me being nervous for fingerprints. It says you have to be out of country for that

You can't interview for ROC outside of the country.  Right now some biometrics are being waived.  You still pay the fee.  Country is only mentioned once in the USCIS Instruction sheet.  What instructions are you following?

 

Affidavits cause many issues.

 

The nuances are a "sworn" affidavit is before a member of the court, which a notary is.  Normally a notary is is only confirming that the person signing the form is that person. If the the document is an "affidavit" we have to give an oath. 

 

A affirmed affidavit is not a sworn document.  If called before USCIS the affiant would then be given an oath (sworn).
