Help.. Our AOS Realy Got Screwed Up!

As I reported earlier, we received our I-797C's for my wife, (who came here on a K1), and her daughter, (K2) however my wife's had a digit wrong on the address. Fortunately my mail carrier caught the mistake and delivered them both to the right house.

I called the USCIS 800 number and informed them of the error and they told me to wait 45 days...

Now, I got the notice of the biometrics appointment for my stepdaughter, but the one for my wife did not come, (either the mail carrier did not catch it or it got returned, the address they entered for my wife does not even exist, so it may have been returned to USCIS).

How can I get this problem resolved and get the address corrected on my wifes records? I can see this is going to be a big problem if everything they send her goes to the wrong address...

Explain everything to the CO at the biometrics appt. they may be able to do your wife's fingerprints at the same time as well. The best way to fix this problem sometimes is just going to the local office, the "mis-info line" hardly works.

You could make an Infopass appointment ASAP and see if they can help... chances are your wife's biometrics letter has already been returned if the mailman's missed it, but... they might be able to help. You could attempt to get someone on the 1-800 line to change the address for you (they can do 'real' changes of address, so hopefully they can fix errors in addresses on the system too)... or even try writing to the NBC (slow, but at least you could hope that whatever you send finds its way to your wife's file), as that's where your wife's file should be if you've received her NOA. They have info on how to write to them with address changes - they do say they 'prefer' the 1-800 number to be used, but maybe you could try both...

I think an Infopass might be the way to go, though... there are options for changing addresses with USCIS, but I'm not sure (someone else might be, though!) whether that would be the way to go, given that your wife hasn't actually changed address!

It may come a day or two after the other letter. My son's I-30 notice and AOS notice were received 3 days apart, even though they had been sent at the same time.

There was also a RFE sent i by USCIS in c/o me for my son that was returned to them as undeliverable.

This showed up on the online case status and I called the 800 line to check into it. They sent in a request to have it resent and I received it a week later.

Even though the address is incorrect, you can file the AR-11 online (you put in the case numbers afterwards to update the address on the cases) to correct it. Also make an infopass appointment to make sure they changed it.

Good plan. Maybe send a hard copy of the AR-11 as well, to cover all bases - then an Infopass to make sure they have the correct address on the petitions.

Do an on-line AR-11 form and make an infopass appointment at your local office to check the address they hold... they will also be able to tell you if anything has been returned to USCIS as undeliverable....

Do not send in a hard copy of the form AR-11 it will only confuse USCIS... and dont bother with the 0800 number it is just a waste of time and energy....
