Failure to file for ROC technically terminates your LPR status. it's a little more complicated in practice as an IJ has to formally rule on that, but you could also miss the NTA and get a removal in absentia.

Or it could be found out if/when they file for naturalization, or if they ever get in trouble with the law.

A wrong card is not a reason for failing to file for ROC when required. USCIS has made that clear when the same situation has happened to others.

What is the green card category code on the card?

https://www.usimmigration.org/faq/what-are-the-green-card-category-codes

I think if its IR1, the card is consistent with whats in the system. (then I think USCIS made a mistake.. but they are not correcting it automatically unless u tell them to downgrade u to CR1)

If its CR1, then its a conditional 2 year card.    But u got the wrong expiration date.

IR1 case, in my opinion is it is consistent in system and on card.   Everyone down the road will look at the system and card.

CR1 case, when they look at the system, they will follow the dates in system there... card irrelevant.

maybe u got different code too.

Maybe others can chip in

u got the wrong date printed on card.  System flags you as fiancee type, 2 year to upgrade card to 10 year card.   ie date is wrong on card, system has correct information.  Please follow what others have said, let them know to print you a new card.

But I was thinking, you can also just not do anything, wait until like 21st month and then apply for the upgrade...  to 10 year card.  Maybe others disagree.

Can't do that either. They will make you fix the error before ROC.
