I-134 Affadavit of Support Form

Am working on post-NOA2 paperwork/packet to send to my fiancée. I must say real quickly that the NVC is VERY difficult to get in to speak with someone about K visa application statuses even after their recommended 6pm call-in times! I spent from 5:30 till 8:10 EDT this evening getting busy signals and/or getting kicked out of the call system due to all the operators being busy. Still no sign of our paperwork at NVC...they keep telling me "it's still a little too early. The average wait is 2-4 weeks." ANYWAY, aside from that, I have three questions about the I-134 Affadavit of Support form, if I may.

1) For my annual salary, it varies because I'm hourly and overtime can make that more or lack of overtime can make it less...to be safe, I assume I should put last year's wages...but do I put the exact amount of gross income (pre-tax, pre-deductions) or net income?

2) Since I'm not self-employed, do I still have to submit copies of my Income tax filings at all? It seems from the instructions on the form that I don't.

3) For Item #11, "I intend or do not intend to make specific contributions...etc.", since I don't plan to specifically just give my fiancée (soon to be wife) money for room and board and food, etc., would I put "Do Not Intend to..." on the form? It is kinda confusing. I mean, yeah, I will furnish room and board and food and all that for her through the house we live in and the food in our cupboard or out in town...but "specific contributions" sounds almost like donations or charity, as if I'm giving her money to live off of. How did some of the post-NOA2ers do theirs? The filled form in the "example forms" does not have a checkmark for either "Do" or "Do Not" intend...etc.

1. Gross income. I only included my base salary. I am part of a profit sharing program at work, which does increase my overall earnings quite significantly, but its subject to change and varies from month to month.

2. Find out what the consulate wants to see.

3. The question doesnt really apply to K-1 visa since your fiancee will be immigrating, But I put something to the effect of: I intent to support (fiance name) as my fiancee and then my wife once we are married.

1) To be safe, use your present hourly salary times your base hours per year. For most people who work a standard 40-hour week that would be 2080 hours per year. To go a step further, you could add in overtime hours already worked this year or perhaps an average of the amount of overtime worked over the last few years. Whatever, be sure to attach an explanation of what you did and ask your employer to put something in the employer's letter about overtime for your position.

2) Most consulates ask for 1 or 3 years of tax returns. This has nothing to do with I-134, it has everything to do with DS-2000 (formerly OF-167), entitled something like Evidence That May Be Provided To Meet The Public Charge Provisions Of The Law.

3) It makes little difference how Q11 is answered, but since you do intend to provide room and board (and clothing and incidentals?) - why not say so?
