The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."  That’s unambiguous.  Not "pretty unambiguous," just unambiguous.  Full stop.  Yet governors across the country [...]

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

Worst case scenario

No one is losing their rights. People just need to temporarily think about others, they can go right back to being selfish jerks after this is over.

If you're going to argue that basic healthcare and being allowed to play golf are the same thing, we're done here. And no, I didn't specifically argue about abortions during a pandemic. Though using the pandemic to force your religious views down people's throats and to restrict people's rights to basic healthcare is borderline evil. Comparing something like the consequences of having your rapist's baby to not playing a game of golf is a ridiculous argument. I can't say I'm surprised, I guess?

So all abortions are as a result of rape? Or you just choose to add rape to shame someone with a different view

is abortion really basic health care? For whom?

Are you saying that they're not trying to end all abortions? Because they are.

And yes, abortions are basic healthcare.

Btw, basic healthcare is severely restricted in MI.  Most Drs. Offices are closed, telemedicine is the only way to see a Dr. nowadays.  Elective procedures including those that may be urgent are canceled, hospitals are closing, and medical staff are being laid off.  Hopefully those that are awaiting things like cancer screenings, colonoscopies, prenatal checkups, etc., will not face any serious consequences, but we know that will not be the case.  But I think one can still get an abortion in MI.  Makes a lot of sense.

You cloud your opinion by introducing your sensationalism of rape. Ok ...

We have a different opinion of constitutes basic healthcare, but feel free to maintain yours

as far as abortion. My opinion is, it is not a substitute for birth control or common sense. In the case of rape or profound medical issues I do support the option.

Rape is sensationalism and women use it as a substitute for birth control, huh?

No you equate abortion as a response to rape, there we agree, but, if you actually read responses instead of reacting to random words you might have noticed that.

I thought you were worth having a discussion with, perhaps I was mistaken

A better opinion, and thus better argument, would not have ignored the existence of the 10th amendment.

Thanks for saying what I was starting to type out, but with a lot fewer words than I was about to waste. :P
