I’m just at the very beginning of the K1 process. Reading through the I-129F form and starting to fill it out, I’ve had some questions arise. Here’s one to start:

In Part 3 about criminal history, are those questions regarding me, the petitioner/U.S. citizen, or my fiance/the beneficiary? First reading it, I assumed it was about the beneficiary for some reason, but when I looked at the official instructions, I realized it was saying “you” regarding these questions, which would indicate the question is about the petitioner.

And related, is Part 4, “biographic information,” about the me, the petitioner? Or my fiance, the beneficiary?

I know there will be more questions to come, but I thought I’d start with the straightforward ones!

Both parts are regarding you, the petitioner

The I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) is all about the petitioner. Beneficiary will have their say in the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application at the interview.

BTW be incredibly careful with answering the "criminal history" section. This has gotten many applicants in trouble with their application. If you use the "search" function at the top of this page on the right side, you can search past postings from others who have discussed their personal cases. Just saying.

Gotcha, and thanks for the advice. For what it's worth, neither me or my fiance have any criminal record/history. I know for a fact that I have no record. When I first thought the question was about the beneficiary, I figured I'd ask my fiance just to be sure he doesn't have anything, though I had no reason to think he did. But that's when I realized the question seemed to be about me. (I confirmed with him anyway--no criminal record!)
