But I’ve been here longer than you. I was the definition of middle of the road while you were still a gleam in your father’s eyes.

If being here longer meant doodle squat my last name might be Redcloud.

I did eat a lot of game growing up and not sure my dad, uncles, or grandpa had a semi-automatic. Dad competed in shooting competitions but used a pistol or normal rifle.  Want vs need? Mine certainly doesnt get used to hunting.  Some of the guns banned are a little dumb IMHO. Like a 50 cal?

it's always amusing to see someone tell another person what they need and don't need.

heaven forbid if you have arthritis or a physical impairment that prevents you from using a bolt action.  then you'll be out of luck with the left wingers.

I've read enough about it to be well-informed and I'm friends with more than a few people ranging from casual gun owners to collectors who post about local policies and regulation on their social media on a regular basis. A few of them have also let me crash on their couch once or twice a year for a month or longer since 2008. I've gone shooting more than a couple of times (both at ranges and on RV trips to the woods) and I've been to 8 or 9 gun shows with one of them to pick up ammo and look around. I've also been harassed by old NRA dudes at Cabela's twice over the years because I didn't want to sign up for a stupid membership to their stupid organization.

So probably more than people here know about other country's gun policies?

You really shouldn't try trolling like this.  It's ineffectual.

Do you spend a lot of time sleeping on your friends couches?

Your Cabelas story is pure bull

I do when I travel, not having to deal with the cost of a hotel and staying with people who are local is a great way to travel. Plus camping trips and board game nights are a pretty cool extra. The only hotel trips I've taken since 07 were New York and London. The other 19 trips I slept on someone's couch, or with my gf.

I also don't care if you think it's bull, it happened. They literally asked me if I hated freedom because I walked away.

You'll have a hard time hanging and skinning the deer too.

Most areas have many places that do that

It was a question not a statement unless you're referring to the article? I mean you likely don't "need" a gun to go hunting either (my bow works) but a semi auto would preferred if you were in bear country.

Edit: or for reasons as youve stated, physical impairment.  I do believe not everything beyond bolt action is banned tho. But getting a gun in Canada has always been harder to do than here.  But i remember my dad making his own bullets, and being able to travel without a lockbox and permit for a handgun.

People do that for you nowadays? What a wonderful world.

Cant tell if you are being sarcastic  but there are loads of deer processing places in my area. I would assume all hunting areas have them.

Just for the record I dont hunt. I get no joy out of watching things suffer. I realize its important  and I know I eat meat that is processed inhumanely,  just personally dont have the disposition for it.
