Visa journey processing date accuracy

A lot of people tend to think the numbers here are the source of truth, I've even seen posts where people said they called and referred to the numbers on visa journey, for real? It means 0 to USCIS and there is no affiliation to this forum.

The numbers are definitely helpful in trying to figure things out, but they're just a small percentage of applicants, and things change, sometimes the wait time increases sometimes it goes quicker.

It also depends on what cases the case workers pick out.

 

Each case is also different. Just because 1 person who filed the same day or week got approved doesn't mean the same will happen for everyone.

 

One thing that irritates me (and not talking about any specific here) is a lot of people will ask for info and timeframes and never fill out their timelines.

In my case from K1 thru AOS the VJ timelines were fairly close, I would say within 2 weeks of dates things were happening. But everything is different now, but I like to think the VJ numbers give a rough estimate, but like others have said the date changes as data is entered by members, but my petitions were close to the estimated dates.

The thing to remember is that while VJ stats are accurate by definition for the set of VJ users on average (and historically, VJ users that update their timelines has been a big enough set to be statistically significant), your particular case can take significantly more or less time. I think the biggest issue with the formula VJ uses to calculate its estimates is that the range it gives is too narrow; it usually gives a range of about a week when the actual variance is a lot greater than that.

Before all thing that happen in the world. The VJ timeline estimate was very close. I think mine was 4day to a week.

 

With everything that going on I would take the VJ estimation with a grain of salt.

When average timelines shrink, VJ tends to update well and adjust quickly. This is because it has more data of those changes via its users.

When average timelines grow, VJ tends to lag in updating. Because it has no way to know if people just aren't providing data or if it's actually taking longer. All it knows is users aren't marking their timelines as being approved.
