How did you get to talk to a person. Any tips please?

Someone suggested saying "infopass"

That seemed to work for me. Do that then you'll get told how long you'll be on hold for.

Give that a try.

Did any one get a message like below

"we determined that your issue will be best addressed by the uscis office processing your case; therefore, we are forwarding your inquiry to the national benefits center"

I applied on 05/09/2020 and was following up in email and got a response as above. My ASC is Charleston, SC.  Not sure what it means or next steps

May Filers - has anyone who is yet to receive a notice for interview engaged an attorney and if so what was the outcome?

Considering how the timeline seems to be a running target (processing timeline increased by 1 month for me today) , how long will we wait ?

Thanks in Advance

Hmmm! Did you file online (Which would be where your initial appliation went NSC).

I wonder if some our applications haven't even made it to our local ASC's yet and that is what the hold up is.  I am on month 17 now. Still waiting!!

Yes. I filed online. Looks like it is stuck at NSC

So I had a call with the USCIS where I indicated that there has been no movement since fingerprinting in January 2021. The agent gave me the usual response of the case being 'within processing times' - however he also said that his systems did NOT show the files having moved to the field office (to schedule the interview).

For my Field office (Newark, NJ), processing times currently are 12-19.5 months and we are at month 16.

Any advise on whether Congressman can help with pushing for the files to the field office?

Thanks in advance

My N400 case went outside processing time, being approx. 17 months since I have applied, and I have placed a service request.

The below response was given after a couple of days:

USCIS has received your request for case status.
Our records show that your N400 is currently under extended review.
We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay.
Please contact the National Customer Service Center at the phone number below.
At this time, no further action is required from you.

Anyone know what extended review means?

I believe congress rep can only help if the processing time is past the upper month range.  But it doesn't hurt to check.  I would actually do that.

Thank you. Will try

@ptMay2020 try this.  Reason for calling "missing mail", has it been over 30 days since you applied "say yes", do you have the receipt number "say no".  Answer using the quotes i've listed and you'll be directed to someone.  Goodluck!

Well, I am officially a month over the normal processing time for Atlanta.  Something tells me my file has not made it to my local ASC, but I have made an infopass appointment for next week and hopefully I will have some answers.

I have also uploaded my I551 stamp (since my GC expired in April) as well as my DL to see if it generates any movement.

In parallel are you submitting an enquiry with your local congressman?

I have emailed and mailed a letter to my ombudsman today so we will see.  I won't contact my congressman because TBH they won't do anything.

Quarterly check-in: there has been no movement on my N400 case since I received a Bio-reuse notice in February 2021. So I submitted an "outside of normal processing times" service request online. They say I'll hear back by Oct 31.

12/2003 - Married in US
01/2004 - I-130/I-485/I-765 Filed
02/2005 - Conditional LPR Approved
03/2007 - LPR Conditions Removed and life without the USCIS was great until...
11/2016 - LPR Renewed

05/2020 - N-400 Filed Online

06/2022 - Citizenship Ceremony

10/2022 - Divorce!

I'm on the same boat: filed on 5/11/2020, no movement since biometrics in January 2021. Washington DC field office, submitted an "outside of normal processing time" request on 10/4. Called USCIS and learned that my case still hasn't been assigned to an officer... Has anyone contacted attorney? the backhole for April/May 2020 filers is truly annoying...
