Well they've done it again...

As of yesterday, I was 357 days since application receipt notice, and 9 months since Bio reuse notice- which was the last notice sent from USCIS. Ah, but at least I knew I was a bare 33 days away from being able to file an "Outside normal processing time" service request.

Today my local office (Memphis) have revised their processing time - again, third month in a row - from "11.5-13 months" to "12-17 months". Now I cannot file an "Outside normal processing time" service request for an additional 5 months, assuming the goal posts are not moved again.

No end in sight. Sigh.

Last Saturday (July 26 2021) my case finally went "outside normal processing times". I immediately submitted a service request and got the standard "Expect a reply by August 15th". Nothing in the three days since, which is not a surprise, and in fairness would not be expected.

However, today the "normal processing time" window was lengthened by an additional 4 months (was 11-14, now 11-18), and my case now wont be out of processing time for another 4 months. Does anyone know what this does to my service request? Will I just be fobbed-off and told "you are still in normal processing times, go away" even though I wasnt when I submitted the request?

Sending in an e-request.

I filed online May 6th, 2020.

Bio reuse notice Jan 20th, 2021. No update since then.

I am an Iowa resident so I'd be going to Des Moines for anything further, I would assume.

The receipt date for an inquiry is July 30th, 2020, so I'm safe to do so now.

The "estimated time range' is 8.5 Months to 12.5 Months. I'm now in month 15.

I just want to be done.

Thats great!

I just looked and the Atlanta office processing times went down by 4 months and so did the receipt date.  It's still in April of 2020, but it was Nov 2019 last week.

Fingers crossed for us all.

I hope I'm doing it right.

Just providing the info they are asking for on the form.

This is what I have so far:

"I received a Biometrics Reuse notice on Jan 20th, 2021. That was the last action on my case.
There has been no update since then.
This week will be 15 months since I filed. "

Hi all - as way of an update to my question "would the change of expected processing window affect my outside normal processing service request" - and as way of an update generally.

The good news was "No, it didnt change the request" - it was treated (as it should have been) as an outside normal processing service request. As far as I can tell anyway.

The bad news was "it was treated  as an outside normal processing service request" - which for me meant an email saying

USCIS has reviewed your Service Request and determined that your application is currently in the pre-processing stage. After the pre-processing stage is complete, your file will be scheduled for an interview. No further action is required from you at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing.

What You Can Do:

If you do not receive a decision or notice of other action within 90 days, please contact the USCIS Contact Center at the phone number below. In the interim, if you need to replace or renew an existing Permanent Resident Card, please refer to the Form I-90 (Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card) instructions for further information.

- so basically the service request was useless and things in my case are not being escalated.  Meanwhile, my status on my case is

Estimated time* until case decision:

Things are taking longer than expected. You do not have to do anything at this time.

so, in summary, no further forward, nobody at USCIS looking at things any more closely than they were two weeks ago, no projected completion date, and the best they can offer is "call us in 90 days at the telephone number that doesnt allow you to talk to a human and hangs up on you if you ask to talk to a human." Goal posts changed again, and no recourse. Sigh.

Can you please share the site that you are using for checking the current processing times?

Inquiry sent.

I should "expect a reply by August 26, 2021"

Fingers crossed for you.   Maybe they are finally getting rid of the backlog.
