Thank you for the suggestions. We will bring copies of all of our joint accounts, policy coverage, etc, as well as photos and greeting cards, just in case. Doesn't hurt!

Another VJ member told me they received an updated document informing them that their N-400 interview would actually be a combo i-751 and N-400 interview. Since my husband's i-751 is still pending and the N-400 interview is coming up, I thought we might receive a similar update. However, we haven't gotten anything yet. How did you find out your interview was going to be a combo?

You would recieve a follow-up notification from USCIS informing you of the details if it is to be scheduled as a combo joint I-751 and N-400 interview. In the follow-up notification it requested that the spouse attend the interview with the applicant, and what you're required to submit and/or bring. Buen suerte!

We received the notification of the joint combination I-751 at the time of the N-400 interview 96 hours after the initial Naturalization scheduled appointment interview notification.

I did not bring piles of documents on my interview - they already had everything they needed. I followed the list of the documents they advised to bring on the interview invite NOA. In my case it was just the NOA itself, green card, my passport, marriage certificate, and husband's birth certificate. That's it. The only thing the officer asked to look at was my passport to make sure the entry/exit stamps agree with my foreign travel section of N400. Obviously it's up to you guys if you want to bring additional evidence.

My oath ceremony is scheduled for March 18th. Sadly, no guests are allowed, I did not expect to be all by myself in such a special moment, but oh well, these are the times we live in.

Congrats to everyone getting their interviews scheduled!

Finally after nearly two years waiting for my I-751 to be decided and a Short 10 months N-400 process compared. We finally got notified of a scheduled interview. Hopefully it’s a combo. Info pass yesterday the agent said it would be. The end is finally in sight. This was a long process I was certainly not one of the lucky ones with my timeline.

Hubby got approved for citizenship! HOWEVER, if anybody has traffic tickets, don't mention them if the fine is under $500... my husband got one last week and mentioned it, now they can't submit his ppwk for the swearing in until they see proof it was paid.... just an FYI

he was asked some basic questions, none of the hard ones.

so glad this is almost over!

Ladies and gentlemen of May 2020 N400 filers, my journey has come to an American end. Last Thursday I attended my interview in Charlotte, NC and took the oath on the same day (Charlotte does both on same day). The day was not without some last minute adventure from there being a medical emergency when we got there and were asked to wait outside for 45 minutes while the ambulance and fire truck showed up. The only thing I could think about was I hope the person is ok and God please don't let them cancel interviews for today. It was ok and we were allowed to enter.

Upon entering we were led to a room with multiple interview stations. Each station had a glass with the officer behind it. We were interviewed within earshot of each other. The officer asked me to raise my right hand swear I'd tell the truth. From there I was asked 6 civics questions which I got correct and at that point the civics portion ended. I was then asked to write on an iPad "The President lives in the White House". Then I was asked to read in English "The President lives in the White House" I passed that too.

From there I was walked to another desk in the room to an iPad with a camera facing me. On the iPad was an officer who was on his computer reviewing my file. Had a bit of a scare when he asked if I brought my birth certificate. I had not because the letter did not ask us to bring it. For some reason he could not find it in his file and started to say we could not move forward without it. I became super sad. I had come all this way only to be tripped up by that. Fortunately he found it and we moved on. MORAL OF THE STORY: TAKE EVERY DOCUMENT YOU THINK MIGHT BE IMPORTANT. He then proceeded to ask me all the questions on the form: name, addresses, work places, then all the yes no questions. After that he casually said I had been approved and my certificate would be printed. WOOOO HOOOO!!!!

From there the certificate was printed and me and the group of people at my appointment took our oath after handing in our green card (yes they take it back). We took pictures and were given voter registration forms and left. And I've been an American since. Thanks to everyone in this group for all the moral support over the months. I'll stick around and answer any questions others have. You guys are so close!!
