I received my interview date today but I also have a big exam that same time and day. It's like a state exam, every nursing student in the state takes the exam at the same time so I can't cancel it. The interview date is also around a month away so it feels kinda rushed.

 

1. Does anyone know the best method of contacting USCIC to reschedule? I tried calling but the robot just told me to follow instructions (which was to call them).

2. I read on a website that I should send them a letter. Has anyone tried this before and is 1 month enough time for someone to read it, considering scheduling it took months?

3. The interview part is strictly answering 10 questions, a written and a verbal test, correct? Or is there anything else I'm missing.

 

I'm definitely in panic mode, thank you to anyone who responds.

If you cannot get through on the phone you could try to use their chat service called EMMA. We've used it once and got through to an agent pretty quickly. They might be able to help you there.

I used EMMA and reached a human. He opened a case and gave me a referral number. All I have to do is wait but I hope they'll do it in time before my original interview date (if not it'll be a no-show).

Atlast biometrics appointment is scheduled. NOA April 16th 2020. My I-751 is also currently pending. Hence I thought they would reuse my biometrics but seems like they scheduled a appointment in ASC. One issue is I cannot see the appointment letter yet in myUSCIS account, does it take time to get updated? Thank you.

also would like to know how long after biometrics they schedule the interview? Is it month or more than that?? I see most of them for whom biometrics is reused they sent interview invite within a month.thank you.

When you call USCIS and the robot says “what can I help you” you just need to say SPEAK TO REPRESENTATIVE 

and that’s it. Repeat that as many times as needed until the robot voice connects you.

Hello,  is there any process  on how they decide who’s biometrics can be reused or who need a fresh appointment? My I-751 is also pending and it’s not even been 1 year since I gave biometrics,  they sent me a biometrics appointment for 12/3/2020, again. Hoped they can reuse it.

Hello. I'm really at a loss at how USCIS makes their decisions; it seems chaotic and backwards at best. If I had to guess, I'd say the local office has a say in reusing biometrics and if not, probably NBC. But again, I don't have a clue!

One thing is for sure, your case is moving forward, and that's a good thing!

This has been helpful for me reading everyones stories and updates, so i wanted to share mine.

filed end of may, biometrics reuse end of september and interview scheduled for december 7th. 

im pleasantly surprised as my estimated case completion was march 2021.

hopefully this gives some others hope

Any idea how you can talk to these clowns at USCIS their phone system is totally different now and it keeps hanging up on me. Ive tried forcing it by pressing 0 multiple times and asking for an agent but it never works.

Try their chat function called EMMA. We've had success with it and it seems others have recently had success as well.
