Biometrics inquiry finally assigned to an officer. Let's see how long it will take to get an appointment or if it will just be ignored.

Someone on reddit yesterday claims they called USCIS and talked to an agent about a biometrics appointment as it had been over 90 days since the ASC reopened. The user claims that the agent said that the 90 day rule is no longer in effect and that the wait is "indefinite". Take that info as you will. As for me I want more data about that subject.

I'll be sure to provide updates about biometrics.

Good luck everyone.

Harold - I believe that is true to a point - particularly with offices that are inundated with cases. I happened to receive a similar response from a Tier 1 officer earlier , and when I did manage to get a service request through to my Field office  ( Newark, NJ) , the response from the local office was that things are pretty much within 'normal processing times'- whatever that is supposed to mean.

I wonder if anyone has had experience/luck/success running this through their constituent representative?

Thanks for the additional data point!

What's funny is that elsewhere I've seen a lot of people getting two biometrics appointments so in essence USCIS is so poorly mismanaged right now that people are getting two appointments while others get zero!

Okay, the service request has been completed (that was WAY faster than I assumed it would take).

My wife received an email from USCIS that says a request for a biometrics appointment has been requested within their system and that they will notify us when that appointment has been scheduled.

So, let's wait and see how long that takes!

Hello,

Can I know after how long you raised the service request, it started showing up in USCIS case status account? It will show under history right?

The service request was placed Monday the 19th and I believe it showed up the same day under the Next Steps column (old website, new website doesn't provide these types of updates).

Today it took about an hour for the thing to go from assigned to completed.

Thank you, does it showed something similar to below when you first raised the request?

“As of October 26, 2020, your inquiry about a notice that you did not receive, referral number T1S********MSC, is currently not assigned for processing”

Indeed. It looked like that for over a week.

Hello. My status changed to Biometrics appointment was scheduled. I applied May 20.

How long does it usually take from the biometrics appointment to get the interview date?

thx

From what I’ve seen in various forums, interview date is usually about a month after biometrics

Checked my wife's case on both old and new website. Nothing going on the old website however, the new website, under the documents tab, shows a biometrics reuse notice (which we saved and printed). The notice shows that the case is at NBC so I'm not sure if that is default data or if it is not yet at the field office.

So I must say, this has been surprisingly quick!
