Guys do you know if it's a good idea / legal to make an appointment for passport a few weeks ahead of time even though my oath ceremony is a few weeks away? I read passport deliveries are super delayed due to workload so it takes a few weeks or months to get a passport anyway?

No reason to wait with getting a passport appointment if you know which date you will have your oath. Always good to plan ahead. 👍 Congrats to the N-400 approval!

Are you on this FB page? https://www.facebook.com/groups/517983782770173

People are getting interviews left and right but only if they requested A-file.

Major update. Interview scheduled today. Does my FOIA request worked so well, or it’s something that anyway would be scheduled today?

We’ll never know.

I believe that FOIA helped to push my file.

I requested just N-400 and i-751 files.

Not a whole A-file.

Good luck to everyone waiting

Our journey got completed today in Boston

Filled mid April 2020.

Got bio done in Feb 2021. Then nothing for exactly 13 months. Filled FOIA in February 2022, which completed in three weeks.  Received interview notification in early March 2022.

Today was interview, n then was offered same day Oath, which we graciously accepted. Was done n minted as a new n proud US citizen by 10AM.

This forum helped a lot. I wanted to file for FOIA back in November of 2021 but got discouraged by posts on Reddit. But finally reading positive feedback from this forum we applied in February 2022.

So finally after almost two years of wait, here we are.

thank you all.

The saga ended today. May 2020 in NYC filer here. I had interview on March 10 and had ceremony today April 4th.
Super quick ceremony, lasted not even 10 min. Everyone still socially distanced, not allowed to hang around for any pics or anything. When it ended, we were all ushered out of the room very quickly. There was about 75 people.
Thank you so much for all the advice and help from everyone in this forum. The FOIA request was what did it for me even though the files were available for me after the interview.
Good luck for everyone still waiting!!

Congratulations. Where was the oath ceremony held? Also would you remember when you received oath ceremony notification in mail? Trying to establish the gap between actual letter being sent and the oath day.

The ceremonies are all held at the Federal Plaza Building by Worth St.

I had a notification that the interview was scheduled the day after the interview that was on March 10th. The date of the oath letter was March 15th but I only got in the mail around March 22nd. So about 2 weeks after the letter came in the mail and the oath scheduled for yesterday on April 4th.

They are still not up to full capacity due to the pandemic and still social distancing in the room, no family members allowed in or in the waiting area.

Thank you for sharing. In my case they told me it'll be in cyclones stadium next month and there'll be media present and up to 2 ppl can come with me but it's so weird. It's been over a week since the call but there are no notices showing even in the online account. Paper mail I understand can take a week to arrive after the digital notice show in the account so I'm worried if it was just a mistake in my call somehow. My case is different as  as I was told a decision could not be made at the interview. this was a month ago. The lady on phone said case was approved though and repeated my home address for me for the oath letter notification I suppose. But still the radio silence is odd.

I wanted to say thank you! Not sure if coincidence or this actually helped but I sent a request and within minutes my status changed to "placed in line for oath ceremony". 😧 what!!!
No oath date so far though.
