Good news today - I FINALLY have an interview date!

April 18th - Des Moines, IA

My FOIA is still on step 3 (6576 in the queue) but it must've triggered something.

Filed online May 6th 2020

Biometrics Reuse notice Jan 20th 2021

Filed FOIA Feb 8th 2022

Interview Scheduled Mar 8th 2022

I'm so happy! At least I have a month to prepare and gather up a few more things.

hi i also submitted foia but i submitted it for my n400, did you do it for a file or n400? do you know if i need to submit a new one?

I submitted one FoiA request for my pending N-400 and pending i-751 (removal of conditions).

It looks to me, that no one actually knows for sure on this entire forum, that in order to possibly get your case moved and interview scheduled, you need to request a whole A-file,  or just N-400 or any other pending application.

Ok so here is a step by step on how to file the CORRECT FOIA

1- go to https://first.uscis.gov/

2- Sign up for an account

3- Click SUBMIT A REQUEST

4- Click FOR MYSELF

5- Make sure to select (Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act (PA))

6- leave What is purpose of your request? BLANK

7- Fill out all the info as you know it, first name, last name, maiden names, dob, passport number, alien number, receipt number, address, phone number, parents information.

8- MAKE SURE YOU SELECT ENTIRE A-FILE in the following step

Usually it'll be a couple weeks of wait but will vary greatly on your local office. Where did you file?

You definitely need to request your A-file. FOIA is not a guarantee but it worked for many while nothing else did. I would take my chances.

The thing is, i don’t care anymore how long it would take to get an interview, but i got curious about FOIA process, and made this experiment on myself, that may be a helpful experience for others here at VJ.
At this moment, all 5 steps is completed and my n400 and i751 are uploaded in my uscis account. It took for them just 3 weeks since request filed online.

I will wait for 30 days, and if no interview scheduled during April, i’ll request whole A-file.
By the way, how possible to know, that this whole trick works with August 2020 applicants as well? Does anyone from july-august 2020 filers received their interview shortly after requesting their A-file?

People are getting interviews left and right but only if they requested A-file.

Guys do you know if it's a good idea / legal to make an appointment for passport a few weeks ahead of time even though my oath ceremony is a few weeks away? I read passport deliveries are super delayed due to workload so it takes a few weeks or months to get a passport anyway?

Thank you! I'll do the same. I hope the oath doesn't get delayed or nothing unforeseen comes up so I can just cruise to my passport appointment soon after 🤝
