Hi peeps! Passed my interview today! Yay! FOIA trick is solid! My nice thick file was in front of the officer! She was training a new officer so I got some insight about why they ask certain things! The only thing she asked for was my passport, green card, and my driving record since I had a couple red light/speeding ticket. Questions:
When is Independence Day?
Who is the Vice President?
Ocean in the east side?
What is an amendment?
Rights from the 1st amendment?
Who is the speaker of the house?
Reading test: who lives in the White House?
Writing: the president lives in the White House.
Field office: Chicago
Time line:
5/25/2020 apply
2/192021 bio reuse
12/12/21 FOIA
1/18/22 interview scheduled
2/28/22 interview
Good luck everybody!

I wanted to chime in here after lurking for a while.

I was also a May 2020 filer. I received my interview notice in January after submitting a FOIA request in December. That could be related or not. I've had my interview in February and my oath is scheduled for this week.

My heart does go out to all that have waited this long but I wanted to let folks know that things are moving for some of us. I hope this batch gets finally processed as it has been too darn long.

Congratulations

Thank you, I submitted my FOIA yesterday. Hope that this move things

We applied for my husband in may of 2020.....

He had his biometrics last year..........

We followed some advice to try to apply to something to push the case futher but got some information stating that there were some flags on the case about his name.....

I dont know what to do.... He lost his wallet which had his green card and now he cannot apply to any jobs. Then on top of it, we have been waiting nearly 2 years for his citizenship. Im so fustrated.

Make an infopass appointment with the local USCIS office to get an i551 stamp in his passport or an i94 document if a passport is not available. The stamp will provide proof for his continued LPR status for all needs.

Are the interview questions based on multiple choice ie you have to pick correct answer on a screen or you need to verbally answer or type the answer?

Its a test of, comprehension(listening), reading and writing. The test is based on the 100 questions, and gets covered in the listening, reading and writing portions.

Hope this helps.

For the civics test, you will get 6-10 questions that are randomly chosen by their computer system. You will never see these questions, your immigration officer will ask the question and you will answer. There's no reading or writing involved in this part of the test, there is no multiple choice either.

For the reading part of the test, they will show you a sentence on a screen and you will read it out loud, very easy.

For the writing part, the officer will verbally say a sentence and you will write it on the screen with a stylus pen. So you have to listen carefully when the officer says the sentence, but you can also ask him to repeat himself if you need to.

Hi - here's my experience, though yours may vary:

I took everything they listed on the interview letter (Green Card, passports, etc.)- and obviously the letter itself. This included the original copies of anything I had uploaded as scanned evidence during the online application (e.g. I took my original marriage certificate as previously USCIS had only possessed a scanned copy). As a male who first arrived in the USA after the age of 31, I did not register with the selective service, so I also took a copy of this document below:

https://www.sss.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Applicants-over-31-years-of-Age-USCIS-Policy.pdf

I also created a signed letter referencing that link above, stating that I had satisfied all selective service registration requirements. I also decided to take five years of tax return transcripts, and my drivers license

When I was interviewed, the only documents that were actually checked by anyone were:

1. Drivers License/Interview letter (checked by security)

2. LPR Card/Interview letter (checked by USCIS check-in)

3. Drivers License/LPR card (checked by interviewer).

Beyond those (Drivers License, LPR Card and interview letter) I dont think I was asked for anything else. They never looked at my passport, or my marriage certificate, or asked about selective service registration. And they never asked about anything else that wasnt on the letter.

I would recommend that you take everything listed on the letter that applies to your case, including all passports and any originals of uploaded or scanned evidence that USCIS has not been able to verify previously, and any drivers license/other ID. Just because I wasnt asked about it doesnt guarantee other applicants wont be asked. You can always take "more" documents like I did, even if you never need them - though you may not want to produce them (or even mention you have them) unless or until asked by the interviewer.

I hope this helps!

Cheers

Hi Guys -

I have my oath ceremony scheduled for tomorrow. Other than the appointment letter and green card, what other documents do I need to take?

Thanks.

Had my interview today.

the officer asked for documents as proof that we still lived together. I only had the jointly filed tax transcripts on me for last few years and our w2s for last few years.(those only showed our past addresses since we moved a few months ago - so nothing to show for the new address as jointly lives). I’m thinking I could’ve gone more prepared with print outs of our joint bank account or utility bills with both our names 😩

was given a white form that said I passed my exam but a decision could not be made. Officer told me they need to review my file.
