We filed out the form with our Congressman bin CA for our K2 EAD. My wife (K1) has had her combo card since October 2020, but we can't file taxes properly without a social security number for our K2. We received a response from our Congressman's office today saying that our case is being expedited. The same day our case status changed to "card being produced"! So, yeah, try your Congressperson's website and fill out that form!

Definitely agree! Contact your congressman to help push. Turns out a notice was created for EAD on 3/15/21 (just received that yesterday in the mail), while our case for expedited EAD was denied on 3/15/2021 (we expedited through our congressman). So we may have in fact got an expedite without the paper trail...or it was simply time to approve the EAD?!? We'll take it either way!  Long wait from biometrics (1/8/21) and even longer wait from PD (5/27/20).  BUT, at least we are making headway. Hopefully the Social Security Number comes quickly (we requested they send it to us rather than doing a separate appointment to get on our own). Keep pushing folks and keep the faith! We'll get there!

Biometrics being reused for N-400: Notification online 02/28/024

N-400 Application Accepted: 02/15/2024; Notified by text 02/20/2024

So we had our interview on the 5th and were told that our case needed further investigation. After nearly 2 weeks of overthinking and manically refreshing the USCIS page, yesterday it changed to say my new card is being produced! I realise that things moved pretty fast for us (our field office is Las Vegas), but am so, so relieved and happy. Best of luck to all my fellow May filers and try not to worry too much if you don't get approval right away.

This doesn't sound uncommon at the minute - our lawyer told us some of her clients have been seeing anywhere between 2 weeks to 30 days to get approval - so for anyone else anxiously waiting, try not to worry!

Yeah, it is a long wait. Now I'll worry about the AP. My wife got her combo card, but now the K2's case has not updated for the AP, only the EAD, so I'm worried that the card will not allow her to travel and I'll have to pursue the AP. Of course, it doesn't look like travel to the Philippines will be viable any time soon, but we need to be ready when it is. I wonder how long we'll wait for an interview in CA. "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" is our status since August 2020. Can't cross the border to Mexico either. I was on Priceline the other day to get a room in San Diego but the "Express Deal" listed a hotel across the border, so I couldn't take the deal.

Hi all,

I had my Green Card interview today in Chicago. We submitted our K1 AOS package May 23rd 2020, so I feel like things moved pretty fast considering everything! Our interview was at 8am and the officer was a nice & pretty straightforward, guy! He asked us basic questions & took copies of our apartment lease, my job information/copy of 1st pay check etc, apartment insurance info & my health insurance info.

We were in the interview room about 30 minutes total, and that included our officer spending 5 minutes telling us about the office's air filtration system and how everyone in the office drinks Mountain Dew!! lol

Our case wasn't approved on the spot, our letter he gave us says "your case is being held for review. At this time USCIS does not require any further information or documents from you"

Hopefully it won't be too long until we are approved!!

We just received our K2's EAD with AP (combo card) so we are excited that we can travel when it's allowed, and we hope to get the social security card soon so we can file our taxes. I hope it comes quickly as well!

Hello everyone,

I haven't been here for a while. I've seen some got their interview and approved, congratulations! I'm still waiting for mine. Hopefully I'll get it soon *fingers crossed*

I was wondering about my EAD, it expires August, 2021. I've been thinking of renewing it next month (120 days prior the expiration day). Just to be safe in case the interview doesn't take place any time soon.

Is there any one who got their EAD around the same time or earlier and planning on doing the same?

We got ours around the same time (expires September) but got our interview notice already which was way faster than expected. I had planned to file my EAD/AP extension in the next few weeks as filing automatically extends the validity of your current EAD/AP. There's quite a few threads on what you need to send, and it doesn't sound too hard compared to the rest of the process. Hope you get an interview soon!
