Biometrics early August and received combo card early October. 2 months. K2 still waiting since same biometrics appointment. We're in California. Anyone get k2 EAD or interview in California? Our AOS receipt is from May 18 2020.

I’ve already passed the two month mark from biometrics. Can you let me know how long after your approval notice you got your combo card? I’m trying to figure out how long it takes them to process and mail out the actual card. I want to travel back home to see my elderly mom so trying to figure out timeframes. Thanks

My EAD/AP was approved Feb 11th. I got the notification that the card was mailed on the 16th (USPS tracking showed they actually received it the 17th), and the card was delivered yesterday, the 19th. In my case, it went pretty quickly.

My SSN, though ... I have no idea. I REALLY hope it's soon, but I'm seeing reports of it taking weeks and weeks.

Hey y'all,

It's been a while since I last checked the forum. I saw people having their interview scheduled and others having their approved. Congratulations! \O/

I'm still waiting for my interview to be scheduled since October, 2020 when I've done the biometrics. Anyways ...

I'm having an issue in regards of my EAD. My job contacted me saying that it expires before the end of the contract (EAD expires August, 2021/Contract December, 2021). I don't know if I'll get the interview scheduled before it so I thought about applying for a renewal. I've read about the Automatic Extensions of Employment Authorization Documents in certain Circumstances and my category is included (c09). It seems like after the EAD expiration date it automatically extend to 180 days more. That being said, should I still apply for the renewal (sending the I-765 form again) or rely on this automatic extension and hopefully I'll get the interview schedule before the EAD expiration date?

Thanks,

Does anyone know how long it would typically be until I receive my appointment letter?

My notification was on Feb 17th and still waiting. I hope it comes in in the next couple of days. Will keep you posted since I’m also a Chicago filer.

Any other Chicago AOSers out there? What dates are they scheduling the interviews for?

My notice is coming in the mail today according to Informed Delivery. Will let you know what day the interview is for when I get it.

Again, my local office is Chicago.

Guess what came in the mail today? MY SSN!! 😁

I know that's probably not a big deal to most people, but getting an SSN was supposed to be my very first order of business after crossing the border. When did the offices close? Oh, the day after I arrived🤦‍♀️

My interview notice came in the mail today. Had received the electronic notification on Feb 17th and received the notice with an interview date for Mar 17th.

This is for the Chicago office.

USCIS received our app on May 6th 2020.

I was wondering if this happened to anyone else. My spouse had his biometrics on August 25. He already has his EAD card but Saturday we received another notice to have another biometric appointment but it arrived late so we missed it. Is it common to have to go have another biometric?

Hi, we have the same field office- Detroit and about the same PD  for AOS. But in our case, I was able to get biometrics done last year and also EAD. After that, it's been pretty uneventful. I-485 hasnt changed since last update- case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview. Spoke with a USCIS agent and they said getting the Interview schedule depends on local office processing date which is  about12 to 27 months.

I'm curious to see how your case will proceed as a lot of those who recently had biometrics done, got EAD and Interview schedule faster too. Just not sure with Detroit field office and whats taking them so long. Anyway, hope we both get to hear from USCIS soon!

Glad you were able to get your EAD and SSN. We are still waiting on both. Not sure why some folks get a notice a week or so after biometric appointment, and others are waiting weeks or months. We put in an enquiry on our EAD and were told our application was still pending. We may have to look at expediting if no word, as it's been 6.5 weeks since biometrics. You'd think with immigration having been reduced last year that we'd be moving faster in Detroit. Here's hoping we both get awesome news asap!

A month after biometrics, there was still no movement on my EAD/AP, so I requested an expedite (as I've mentioned, I was mostly concerned about getting my SSN ASAP!). I suggest giving it a shot, as the worst they can say is "no". And if they say "yes" ... well, awesome!
