@LaiQ

You will be fortunate to get your card because they only  accept original proofs I.E.  GC Ead etc when you process through the mail.

You're right... I just hope the lady was being truthful about the SSN being issued and to expect the card in the mail.

Since they won't allow in person services I had no choice really. I also didn't want to send my original EAD card in the mail so I  just sent them a photocopy of my EAD card and approval notice. I also included a photocopy of my passport and original copy of marriage license and that's what they sent me back but there was nothing else. There should have been be a letter/notice about returning the original docs and info abt when to expect the card. I remember reading in this thread that someone from SSN told them to fax the EAD and they still got it. So fingers crossed it's going to be the same for me. 😬

My wife processed her change of name on her SS card via the mail.  We checked the SS site and it specifically says no copies. We took a chance as we needed her card changed as it was a hassle some IDs in the married name some in the maiden name. Let's hope you do get your card. Keep us posted.

Hi there! I requested service request 10/06 and still don’t have any response on that. On Friday 11/06 it’s been 32 days, so I called USCIS, what she said that I am waiting 5 month and processing times in my case is 8-17 month. When I asked about service request and 30 days that they said that takes for them to respond she couldn’t say any reason why they didn’t do this in time and said that she requested Tier agent 2 call for in 7 days. Also that has been more than 3 month since they have been reopened. Still waiting on biometric appointment notice.

06/02 filed

06/16 NOA 1

06/30 RFE

07/09 response for RFE received by local office

The 30 days  for my biometric appointment service request is also up next week and I am afraid this is gonna happen to me too. Has anyone who did a service request for biometric appointment actually got one before their 30 days?

I haven't read any positive experience from filling a service request. I filled mine as well last month and still nothing. Every time I call they tell me to wait the whole 30 days and then to put a new request in. I even read about someone putting two whole service request and nothing after 60 days..

8 to 17 months?? for an ead?? They ought to be outside of their mind!! No way you can mentally survive this long without going absolutely nuts.

They meant I-485 form, but wherever, I know about their rule  90 days for each action, so this answer was so confusing after telling wait 90 days. Patience is the key. I will not let this spoil my mood.

Hi!
I just got my interview letter today 😁 it is scheduled for December 18th.
I filed I-485 on may 5th, got an RFE on June 29th, and had my biometrics done on august 26th 👍

Congratulations! What local office is your case in?

You're right, that's the right way to look at it. I've been in that mindset too but ever since I got a job offer it all change into being very worried that I might lose it before getting the work card. It's been 5 month since I've started applying and only got one offer..

I have a similar timeline as you. I made an inquiry 3 weeks ago and nothing yet so far. At this point,I guess we just wait and hope that someone picked our files. It's gonna be okay, we'll get something positive someday soon too, hopefully!

I made an inquiry on 10/15, and it's going to be already 30 days without any appointment, it's getting harder and harder to talk to a live agent via emma or phone. Every time I finally get through an agent, they just keep repeating the same thing, that they could only put in more requests and nothing more could be done. When I pressed them if they know how many requests we need to make to get an response, they just keep pointing to covid.

Hi guys. I checked online and I noticed that USCIS sent me a RFE for my I-485 should I panic?

Also I already got a RFE for my I-360 ( I’m applying as a widow). I’m so worried is it a bad sign ?
what are the typical RFE for an I-485 ?

:(

I just contacted USCIS again, as my first request was expiring, so I was looking to put in another request. But the agent told me that I now have to wait 30 Business Days before they will put in another request for me. Looks like I will have to submit the E-request myself 😕
