Hey everyone 🙂

I came to the US in March with a K1 visa and sent my AOS on June 2nd. I got a text message last night that they received my case but my case number starts with MSC. Is that normal? I live in Texas shouldn’t start with TCS or something or is that just because I sent the application to Chicago?

Thank you for your answers! And I know I’m not in the right month but I couldn’t find the threat for June 2020 filers and thought people have more experience here eitherway😅

We called their main 800-375-5283 contact number and waited until you have an agent to check your case status in the system. It took us a full 30 days so I suppose some cases are being processed slowly, good luck!

Hi Quick update from me:

I called USCIS New York office today. They told me my I-485 was rejected on 6/10/2020 and they mailed the rejection letter on that day. I’m devastated. I don’t know what went wrong because I have a lawyer. I’m just waiting for the letter now.

Oh I'm so sorry, prepare your package now so that you can send out again as soon as the letter arrives.

Having a lawyer could be part of the problem as they make many many errors. The only thing you can do is wait for the letter then address the RFE. If it was due to the fault of your lawyer I would dump him/her. Most people prepare their own AOS application.

Hi  guys, an update regarding our case:  received the hard copies for NOA today. Hoping it goes smoothly from here.

5/12 :package received at Chicago location

5/19: money withdrawn

5/20: electronic NOA received

5/23: hard copies received

Wanted to add an update to our case.

6/12: Received courtesy letter regarding missing I-693 in application. They asked to bring it with us if/when the interview is scheduled. Waiting for the biometrics to be scheduled, hopefully will hear soon once the ASC centers open on 22nd. Fingers crossed!

You are right. But I already paid all the money upfront. I’m so glad I found this group. I would have never even know I could call the immigration. Now I’m just waiting for the letter. Thank you so much  for the support.

I understand but you must stay on top of your lawyer, some times they don't  inform you in a timely manner of whats going on. Hopefully your RFE will be an easy fix.

I’m on my 3rd try as well. We will try to send off this weekend. I have been awake all day an night going over every form for mistakes. Second guessing if I should N/A or none in certain spaces, I’m losing my mind lol

Finally got our applications accepted! I put K2 as the principle applicant on the I-864 and the K1 as family member. After I sent the applications again, I started doubting that was the right thing to do and I expected to get rejected again, but I got my receipts yesterday. It was right at the 30 day mark from when they received the applications. Maybe they were finally kind to me, or maybe that was the right way to fill out the form. I'm not sure. I don't want to recommend that to anyone as I'm still not sure if that was correct, or if they had mercy on me this time.

That's  the main thing it got accepted,  with USCIS there is really no telling what the right way is, but whatever works!!!!
