I did not say you could not call if you wanted too, by all means do so if you want. The NOA comes  from the USCIS center NOT the lockbox.

Didn't mean that you did.

Well dang, was really hoping for the 15. If something we send to a lockbox doesn't come from the lockbox then what does?

Thanks for the info.

The lockbox  breaks down your  packet into the correct format and or order whatever that is. They process  your payment then send your packet to the appropriate center.

Hi May fillers,

We filed I-485, I-944, I-864, I-765, and I-131 on May 28, 2020. My husband previously filed I-130 online in March and it was accepted.

Today we received a rejection notice for I-485 The reason it states:

The application/petition has not been fully completed. One or more of the following field(s) were not completed:

- Application type

After reviewing the paperwork they returned it. It looks like we answered all the relevant questions correctly. Not sure what to do now.

Please advise!

Does not sound right, perhaps this person knows less than we know. I have heard nothing of the sort. How would  USCIS  know your financial situation if you don't  send in a I-864. Beware!!!!

I know! thats why we got confused. But he explained that since February the new form I 944 is also for household sufficiency. They know your financial situation from 944 because you need to provide bank statements, assets and tax transcript for IRS, this is how they know everything. Supporting documents for both forms are pretty similar

Hey all, we sent my i485 forms by ups on 26th and we haven't heard anything so far. We don't know whether lockbox recieved our package or not since ups didn't even notify us whether they delivered it or not. We haven't heard anything from uscis whether they recieved our forms or not.  Guys what do you advice I do? has anybody who has sent their forms from may 20th recieved a message from uscis or a text?

Sounds like you didn't check the box on i485 page three under family based visas, 2a I'm assuming. If you did though then I'm not sure 🤔

Don't have a UPS tracking number, I guess? I resent on the 31st and haven't heard anything yet. You can call or chat with USCIS and ask about it, but it seems you have to give them 30 days, as has been stated before in this thread.

It will come, don't stress yourself too much until after the 30 days have gone by!

Yea we checked the box 2a on that page. We didnt put N/A in the blank boxes throughout the application. Could that be the issue?

If you are K1, you should've checked 2c.

Not writing N/A is not a problem.

Hello guys! Yesterday i called USCIS and I talked with a costumer representative and they told me that we do not need to send I - 864 ( affidavit of support ). I asked him if he is sure about it and he said positive, if you send I- 944, the do not need I 864. I was surprised because it is opposite of all I knew. Do you guys have information about this???

I wonder if they are trying to get people denied by misinforming them 🤔... The representative was not well informed, check out: I-485 instructions, page 12, 9. Public charge.. etc.

Who Must Submit Form I-944 and Form I-864

..

C. Person admitted to the United States as a K-1 nonimmigrant fiancé(e) or K-2 nonimmigrant child of a fiancé(e) of
a U.S. citizen

Failure to submit a required I-944 or I-864, will result in a denial of your I-485.

Our packet was received by USCIS on 05/22/2020 but we have not heard from them since then. We changed addresses in the meantime but now I’m unsure when to send the form I-865 for sponsor’s change of address. Now or when they finally acknowledge a receipt.

Sponsor doesn't need to change address with 865 until the green card is approved.

When you get NOA 1, you will update the address for the immigrant.

You can update the sponsor address at the interview with an updated affidavit of support.
