Hi everyone,

just wondering how long it took people to receive an NOA1 for the EAD renewal?

Hi,

fot me it took less than a week. I was really surprised, that’s the only piece of paperwork that went fast.

Yeah, really worrisome! The easiest for USCIS to do would be to just make an announcement changing the 180-day extension to a 360-day extension. What they should do if they can't process the renewals in a timely fashion.

Even on Facebook, many people are posting that they haven’t received their new cards as well. Their priority are the ones who were filing for the initial EAD. This is very frustrating.

Hello,

I'm a 2020 May filer and still waiting☹️. I have a question, my EAD is about to expire and I have filed for renewal, but I worry that I may not get it on time. As I followed the previous conversation here, I realized that I can still be an employee after 180 days of my EAD expiration? Is that correct? I mean if I get it a bit later, do I lose my job?

That’s correct! Do you have your NOA1 for your renewal? My husband showed his NOA1 along with his expired EAD to his employer as proof that he can continue working for another 6 months. The NOA1 automatically extends your EAD, as long as you filed for renewal prior to its expiration (which you did!)

Hey all, I spoke with an agent through Emma they are scheduling a tier 2 call for my husband. I’m so confused I asked if our 485 has been sent to field office yet and they said..

our i485 was fulfilled on 04/30/2021, but their is no response in their system yet.

what does that even mean the last thing we have is that our biometrics was applied back on Aug 4 2020

pd is may 4 2020.

thanks in advance for any comments!

Probably just means NBC was done with the pre-processing (ie preparing your case for an interview, background- and security checks etc), and that it now sits there and wait until your field office has time to schedule an interview.

Thank you! That’s kinda what I was thinking but wasn’t really sure. Atleast that shows they are working on it. Hopefully it won’t be to long for all of us.

@Ally&Axel - curious if you received your interview date yet?

We spoke with an agent via Emma this morning to ask, yet again, where in the world our file is. Agent said it’s still at the NBC. I just submitted our second inquiry (for both I-485 and pending I-765 renewal) to our congressman and Sen. Cornyn. Will also try to schedule a call with a Tier 2.

At this point, we’re starting to worry that even the new EAD won’t be produced on time and that my husband will have to leave his job come March, when his extension period expires….

Hi PatSquared,

we haven’t gotten anything scheduled yet, It’s been 2 and a half weeks so hopefully soon.

i hope the senator route leads to something for you. It can’t be bad at least to try.

I understand your concern with the ead problem,  if that’s the case maybe you can try to file for an expedited in January claiming financial loss?

Yes, we intend to file for an expedite if we don’t get the card or hear anything on the interview front by January. This is truly becoming such a nerve-wracking process.

I do hope you get that interview date set soon! 🙏🏻
