Thanks. Yes, we submitted our documents via ceac.

I must say, yours were DQ rather quickly. I last submitted April 6th and nothing yet. How did you find out you were DQ?

Hi Friends,

I submitted our fees and documents on April 22, 2020.   So we are waiting along with all of you for a DQ!

I have a question about the documents for the interview (just want to prepare them ahead of time seeing as some April submitters are getting DQs already!)

It says we need to bring originals of all the financial and civil documents we submitted (and all other documents ever submitted in our immigration process).  Does "original" mean the paper we scanned and submitted?  Or does "original" mean the actual document.  So for clarification- we don't have my husband's military record in our hands.  We have the scanned copy that was apostled and translated.  Its not a copy of the apostle and translation, its the original we got from the notary.  Same for his birth certificate.  Am I making sense?  Any suggestions or ideas about it?

Thanks everyone!

Hello,

the beneficiary is generally required to bring the original paper of all civil documents to the interview. E.g. original birth certificate, original marriage, etc etc. If the petitioner is divorced, the original divorce decree needs to be presented too. Plus proof of bonafide relationship etc. Check out your embassy specific checklist, some embassies request copies of all those documents in addition (or even two copies), but that varies.

The applicant (my wife) currently cannot obtain the Police Clearance Certificate from the Passport Office in Mumbai due to the COVID national lockdown order in India. Could the DS-260 and other supporting documents be processed without it for now? She will bring  the original Police Clearance Certificate with her to the interview when the consulate opens up.

Has anybody had success trying to submit without the PCC, or will the NVC simply return the application as incomplete even with the current situation?

I submitted mine without the PCC. One of my friends also submitted without it and he got approved today, he submitted on April 24 2020. Yes, just one week.

Hey guys!

I have a question regarding starting the whole NVC process. I saw in the email we received from them that we have a year until we need to log in and create an account (otherwise our application will be cancelled). I think we will wait a bit to do that (we're not in a hurry to move and the approval kinda took us by surprise) but apart from creating the account is there anything else that we have to do right now, for example pay the fees?

I don't want to miss any deadline. Thank you!
