interview tomorrow!

by this time tomorrow i will know whether or not i get my visa... and hopefully have it in hand. i'm doing my best not to stress or worry about it too much, but it's hard - it's make or break time. i know that our paperwork is in order, we're fine when it comes to the financial support, but the thing that worries me (even though everyone says it shouldn't be an issue) is my medical background. nothing that would automatically deny me the visa, according to everything i've read, because nothing is contagious or a threat to others, but it is the only thing i can possibly see them using to deny the visa.

but all that aside, just to make sure i've got everything in order:

- medical results and xray: i was going to roll the xray up into a cardboard tube so it's easier to take with me on the plane, would this be a problem?

- passport, and 3 (i know, i only need two but it never hurts to have an extra, right?) passport-style photos

- original birth certificates, long form showing parents' names (mine and his), along with one photocopy of each

- original immunization records, along with one photocopy of my boosters from last week

- police check from RCMP, along with one photocopy

- original: NOA2 (along with one photocopy); checklist from Vancouver; letter for interview from Vancouver

- original DS-230, pt 1 and 2 (pt 2 is NOT signed), along with one copy

- original DS-156 and DS-156K, along with one copy

- original OF-167 completed and signed by fiance

- 4 original, notarized I-134

- I-134 supporting documentation: letter of employment, 3 paystubs, letter from bank and 6 months of statements, the past 3 years' worth of income tax returns (all of this is original; should i make copies? will they want to keep any of this info?)

- evidence of ongoing relationship: travel itineraries; a couple emails; phone records from the last month; pictures (all from the family get-together at easter); updated letter of intent (4 originals); a copy of our I-129F application, which contains a copy of the receipt for my engagement ring

i'm pretty sure i have everything ready to go (it will NOT leave my hands until i'm done with the interview, lol). anyone care to confirm?

and now, to breathe and try to relax...

I'm sure it will go well!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Exactly what misa said - Vancouver is AWESOME. Everything will be okay, at the end of it you'll be just like me - "I lost how much sleep and sanity over THAT?! That was EASY!!"

Just be calm, straightforward and friendly with your interviewing officer. GOOD LUCK :)
