I’m in the same boat, screwed by USCIS-NVC since October 19. I know there is a way to expedite with NVC but not sure if it helps to

move forward your appointment date with the embassy, so keep me posted!!

I asked my lawyer today and I’m waiting for her reply.

if approved it should help speeding things up.
From my understanding the case would be forwarded to the embassy right away and you would be placed in front of the line for the interview process (barring any existing ban of course).
I've just paid the IV fees, will complete the DS260 in the next few days and send the expedite request then.
Will let you know if NVC accepts it or not

It sounds logic. Like when you ask for an expedite/emergency for a non immigrant visa interview.
Fair enough, I’ll post my lawyer reply also.

Hopefully you will get your interview expedited!! It will be great 🤗

I talked to my lawyer. She said we can try but she recommended to wait until the ban is over. As per her comments and what I have read on some FB groups about expedite appointments, the outcome of the request is highly dependent of the consulate you are applying & luck. In those groups, people who got the expedite, claimed: being essential workers, army-veteran  people, medical conditions (from surgery to depression), pregnancy, kids, financial issues, etc. There are people approved in 1 time and people rejected 30 times with similar reasons. So yeah, it is not straightforward.

I'll try as soon as the ban goes down. I´ll keep the forum posted

I requested an expedite after DQ,  and  embassy denied due to having to reschedule cancelled appts.

quick update, our expedite request has been approved and case is now in transit to the consulate.
:)

Congratulations! Did you base your expedite solely in the USCIS-NVC screw up? Or you add more stuff? Which consulate are you applying?

It is good news indeed!

Expedite was requested because USCIS managed to send package to NVC after 8 months.

Application is I-824 follow to join so that my spouse can finally move here with me.

What consulate is your spouse going to have interview? Thank you.
