Hello. I am waiting to get the email or mail from the US embassy in Spain in regards to my k-1 Visa. However, I am not sure if I should send the documents (copies) that it says on the embassy website by mail before the interview or just take them to the interview.

Did someone send the documents such us ds160, police cerificate, birth certificate and pictures before even getting the appointment for the Visa? I have been waiting for them to contact me since February. Does someone know where should I send by mail the documents if I need to?

Thanks in advance!

Do not send any documents to the consulate unless SPECIFICALLY instructed to do so.  Normally, documents are carried to the interview (other than DS-160 submission).

All documents are submitted at the K visa interview (with the exception of the DS-160 online). But I think you may be anxious that you haven't heard from them yet regarding your interview. Are you aware of the current covid-19 closing the embassies down to a minimal staff? they're not processing K visas as of right now. Until then, you can monitor your CEAC status for when it turns to "ready". But after then, you will simply have to wait until the consulates open up again and resume processing.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.

Help us with a timeline and embassy update to your profile in the left column by using the information below. It's hard to give someone an answer if we don't know the background. I'm sitting on information that may help you but not sure till I see where you are in your journey. Your timeline is blank.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
